Patients were classified into schizophrenia (SCZ) and mood disorders (MD). Brain damage was correlated more with patients with MD than with SCZ. PC-Acro was significantly higher in patients with MD than in those with SCZ. The level of CRP in psychiatric patients was higher than that in control group. Medication with atypical antipsychotics reduced PC-Acro in psychiatric patients.
