Coseismic slip model of offshore moderate interplate earthquakes on March 9, 2011 in Tohoku using tsunami waveforms
文摘
Finite fault models of two large 2011 Tohoku earthquake foreshocks are presented. Nearest-field tsunami data inversion revealed coseismic slip of the foreshocks. South-migrating seismicity suggests aseismic slip triggered the Tohoku earthquake. Foreshock coseismic and postseismic slip areas show complementary distributions. A 1981 M7 earthquake asperity ruptured during the largest foreshock in 2011.
