Finite fault models of two large 2011 Tohoku earthquake foreshocks are presented. Nearest-field tsunami data inversion revealed coseismic slip of the foreshocks. South-migrating seismicity suggests aseismic slip triggered the Tohoku earthquake. Foreshock coseismic and postseismic slip areas show complementary distributions. A 1981 M7 earthquake asperity ruptured during the largest foreshock in 2011.
