•: The SAVANNA model was used to projected climate change impacts on vegetation productivity and composition in Kruger National Park.
•: Under all IPCC (A1B, A2, and B1) scenarios broad-scale spatially diverse landscape change was projected.
•: Climate change projections for Kruger National Park include a slight decrease in precipitation (−1%) and temperature increases of 1.5–3.5 °C.
•: Resilience to climate change differs in woody and herbaceous groups with spatial trends closely following a north-south climate gradient.
