Student reflections were analyzed for meaning of an uncomplicated simulation scenario. Students expressed pre-simulation anxiety but gained confidence during the experience. Students recognized the postnatal period as physiological rather than pathological. Simulating normality provides valuable maternal-newborn clinical learning experiences.
