21 patients underwent the combined TES and chest wall excision.

Reconstruction of the spinal defect following TES was accomplished.
•
The surgery was successfully performed in all patients.
•
17 patients were free of recurrence and presented no evidence of the disease.
•
TES with chest wall excision via a modified posterior approach seems feasible and effective.
