Overexpressed aSyn enhances PLCβ1 levels in human neuroblastoma cells. Overexpressed aSyn abolishes Gq-PCR-mediated Ca2+ signaling. High levels of aSyn also prevent Gq-PCR-mediated ERK activation. Dysregulated aSyn inhibits Gq-PCR signaling and might cause non-motor symptoms in PD.
