A multifunctional nanoplatform was constructed. The MnO2 coating could increase the O2 supply and GSH consumption. The O2 supply and GSH consumption resulted in enhanced ROS generation. Enhanced PDT efficiency was observed in PLGA/HMME@MnO2 group. The released Mn2+ ions could be the magnetic resonance imaging agents.
