Cage-carbon migration in the ansa-vanadabis(tricarbadecaboranes) enhances the tricarbadecaboranyl bonding configuration.

Flexible linker enables encapsulation of the metal thereby inhibiting its interactions with other potential reactants.

Bis(tricarbadecaboranyl) dianions hold great promise for the syntheses of new families of highly stabilized ansa-sandwich complexes.
