Layered double hydroxide intercalated cellulose nanocomposite was synthesized. CL-Zn/Al LDH was used to investigate the adsorption behavior of REEs in batch mode. Adsorption followed pseudo second order kinetics and Langmuir isotherm model. CL-Zn/Al LDH showed good regeneration and reusability. CL-Zn/Al LDH seems to be a relatively effective adsorbent for REEs.
