The functional role of Hotair in HSCs Hotair functions as a ceRNA for miR-148b to facilitate DNMT1 expression. PRC2 was involved in the Hotair-mediated the repression of MEG3. Hotair promotes accumulation of PRC2 and H3K27 trimethylation to the MEG3 promoter. Hotair is bound to DNA and required for PRC2 occupancy at the MEG3 promoter.
