Previously neglected small ncRNAs are being identified to be functional and associated with diseased conditions. snoRNAs are altered during cardiac ailments and are also developmentally regulated. piRNAs are altered during both pathological and physiological hypertrophy. Meta-analysis could potentially identify small RNAs with neglected ideologies and also discover novel small ncRNAs.
