Wilms’ tumor gene 1 (WT1) acts as a transcriptional activator of quinolinate phosphoribosyltransferase (QPRT). Expression levels of QPRT and WT1 are highly correlated in acute myeloid leukemia. WT1 binds directly to a conserved site in the QPRT promoter.
