•: More than 4000 whole, farmed Norwegian salmon were examined for anisakid nematodes.
•: No anisakids were present in the harvest quality salmon intended for consumption.
•: A few Hysterothylacium aduncum or Anisakis simplex occurred in the viscera of three salmon runts.
•: The risk of farmed Norwegian salmon to contain anisakid nematodes is very low.
