文摘

Use of flaps for improving aeroelastic performance of suspension bridges is investigated.

Emphasis is placed on the early stages of the erection process.

Flap-deck connections are comprised out of purely passive mechanical elements.

The controlled system is optimised to attain maximum stability margins to uncertainties.

The proposed control framework is implemented in a cross-validated finite element model.
