The activated semi-coke was prepared by KOH activation. The activated semi coke had excellent adsorption capacities for phenolic compound. SBET of semi coke was approximatively 16 times higher after activation. The adsorption process could be well described by the pseudosecond order model. The experiment data could fit well with Langmuir, Redlich-Peterson, Sips, Toth models.
