The model in this paper involves mesh forces, nonlinear oil-film forces and the shift of bearing position simultaneously. Equilibrium positions of journal centers are depicted. Oil whirl and the induced tooth separation are observed in responses. Self-adaption of the rotor journal in bearing clearance exists during the shortening of bearing center distance. Tooth wedging phenomenon led by shift of bearing position are presented. Results show that both the shortening of bearing center distance and transmitted torque contribute to the tooth wedging.
