Seismic wave amplification by topographic features: A parametric study

文摘
Motion amplification is stronger at wavelengths comparable to the feature's size. Motion amplification is weaker for terrain depressions than for protruding features. Small variations in geometry modeling may lead to major differences in amplification. De-amplification is possible to occur within or away from the topographic feature. Motion amplification tends to be stronger in steeper than in flatter hills.
