Defective Rgs2 expression induced the formation of neural crest progenitors. Rgs2 is required for inhibiting the proliferation of nonectomesenchymal cells. Rgs2 regulates neural crest development via the Pparδ–Sox10 cascade. Rgs2 regulates Wnt–Pparδ signaling.
