MC-LR was accumulated more in intestine of Procambarus clarkii than other organs and eliminated more quickly in gill than other organs with freshwater depuration.

Antioxidant enzymes and biotransformation enzyme played key roles in scavenging MC-LR toxicity.

Heat shock protein may be an important cellular defense to decrease oxidative damage induced by MC-LR in crustaceans.
