A method for fixed capital investment estimation for modular plants was developed. A quantification of expectable cost changes is proposed based on literature data. Cost changes resulting from modular design are implemented in the method. Different boundary conditions for plant construction can be considered. Modular and non-modular plants can directly be compared with the same methodology.
