Effects of the incorporation of an additional pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,3-dione unit on the repeating unit of highly efficient large band gap polymers containing benzodithiophene and pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyrrole-1,3-dione derivatives
Two new polymers were made by inserting DPPD unit on P(BDT-TDPPDT) and P(BDTT-TDPPDT).

The property modulation of the new polymers was systematically examined.
•
New polymers showed higher band gaps than those of the original polymers.
•
New polymers showed similar HOMO levels with those of the original polymers.
•
New polymers showed improved morphology when blended with PC70BM.
