Hyperspectral Raman images of normal and malignant prostatic cells were studied. The analysis was focused on the ν(CH) region (2800–3100xA0;cm− 1). Univariate and multivariate chemometric methods were applied. The tumor cells exhibited a significant increase of the cytoplasmatic lipid fraction. Significant and reproducible differences between normal and tumor cells were identified.
