Design optimization of real world steel space frames using artificial bee colony algorithm with Levy flight distribution

An efficient algorithm is proposed for optimum design of steel space frames under LRFD-AISC provisions.

Geometric nonlinear behavior of steel frames is considered during the optimization process.

In the proposed algorithm artificial bee colony algorithm is used with Levy flight distribution.

The proposed algorithm finds lightweight structures compared with other algorithms.

The proposed algorithm has faster convergence rate compared with other algorithms.
