Early Cretaceous bimodal volcanic rocks in the southern Lhasa terrane, south Tibet: Age, petrogenesis and tectonic implications

文摘
An Early Cretaceous (137–130 Ma) bimodal volcanic event was identified in the southernmost margin of the Lhasa terrane. Basaltic rocks were derived from a depleted mantle metasomatized by slab-derived components. Rhyolites were produced by partial melting of juvenile lower crust. The bimodal volcanic suites were likely attributed to the tearing of subducted Neo-Tethyan slab.
