Free-radical generating photoinitiators were prepared and bounded on Cloisite Na+ layers. Organo-modified MMT triggered the obtaining of hybrid nanocomposites by UV-curing. Small silver nanoparticles were in situ photogenerated by photoinitiator-MMT systems. Transparent coatings in the visible domain and UV-light shielding features can be easily performed.
