The estimated SKC bycatch in the shrimp fishery was 2432 tn/year. Ovigerous females represented 28.1% of the total SKC bycatch. There is a detrimental effect on SKC reproductive potential due to its capture as bycatch. Detrimental effects may be due to interference in reproductive migration or in mating.
