•: Arthrobacter alpinus ERGS4:06, a yellow pigmented bacteria exhibited cold and radiation tolerance besides producing cold active enzymes.
•: Genome comprised a circular chromosome (4,322,479 bp), a plasmid (11.2 kb) with 60.64% GC, 4154 predicted coding sequences and 79 RNAs.
•: Presence of carotenoid biosynthesis genes supported the role of pigmentation in cold and radiation resistance.
•: Additionally, industrially important enzymes and presence of other functional genes were also reported.
