Two fluorescent sensors were developed for the detection of Al3+ in DMSO/H2O (19:1, v/v) solution. The 1:1 stoichiometries of the Al complexes have been confirmed. The detection limits of sensors 1 and 2 for Al3+ are far below the WHO guidelines.
