G. beauts hemolymph is new source of lectin protein. The cytotoxicity effect on MCF-7 cells at different concentrations of lectin protein by MTT assay. Lectin protein induced apoptosis only in breast cancer MCF-7 cells by caspase-3 activation. Apoptosis was attributed to up-regulation of Bad and caspase-3 protein expression. G. beauts lectin protein thus holds a potential use for biomedical application.
