Synchronous characteristic of up and down transitions was explored in the dynamic network model. The dynamic network model showed spontaneous up and down transitions but no synchronicity without external stimulation. Stimulation frequency and the number of neurons stimulated on were related to synchronous transitions of up and down states. This work shed light on the reason for generation of synchronous up and down transitions. This work can also lay the foundation for further work on the role of these synchronized transitions in cortex activity.
