Lean and sustainability synergies are not yet well understood. Lean and sustainability research works are analyzed under systems thinking lens from the societal, environmental and economic perspectives. The interactions between lean and sustainability and its effects on performance are examined. A lean for sustainability integration framework is proposed. Areas for future research are also identified in the form of propositions.
