100% of fish exposed to vinasse higher dilution died after 48 h of exposure.

It was observed a reduction of the ridges present on the surface of pavimentous cells in fish gills.

A significant tissue changes was quantify in gills of fish exposed to vinasse.

After vinasse exposure fish gills presented a significant increase of mucous cells.
•
Vinasse is toxic to fish and can reach water resources by leaching/percolation.
