Effect of heat exchanger geometry on the transient heat transfer is studied. The incorporation of metal foams resulted in the highest heat transfer augmentation. Nanofluids enhanced the heat transfer rate and worked in synergy with use of metal foams. Correlations have been proposed for predicting the heat transfer rate from the studied configurations.
