The O25-ST131 strains found were not associated with the presence of ESBL. The E. coli O25-ST131 isolates negative for β-lactamase genes were higher in comparison with the presence of NSBL or ESBL genes The prevalence of serogroup O25 strains, aids in detecting the spread the O25-ST131 clone among outpatients with UTI in Mexico City.
