Design and performance analysis of radial-inflow turboexpander for OTEC application

Complete analysis starting from 1-D design of turbine geometry to predicting 3-D flow phenomena through CFD are presented.

Working fluid chosen is R22 refrigerant and real gas properties are considered in the numerical simulation.

Rankine cycle analysis, systematic characterization of turbine on its performance is presented for OTEC application.

Detailed performance prediction at design and off-design point with parametric investigation were carried out.
