Are TOEFL iBT^® writing test scores related to keyboard type? A survey of keyboard-related practices at testing centers

We surveyed TOEFL iBT® testing centers in 137 countries about keyboard. Most centers reported using only a U.S. Standard English keyboard. The iBT Writing score was not affected by the keyboard type in most countries. Only in 10 countries, the iBT Writing score was affected by the keyboard type. The differences associated with the keyboard type were trivial in effect size.
