Bridging the gap between ideotype and genotype: Challenges and prospects for modelling as exemplified by the case of adapting wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) phenology to climate change in France
详细信息    查看全文
文摘
Earlier stem extension of wheat will be possible under climate change without increasing frost risk. Current early genotypes, in particular those carrying the insensitive PpdD1—spring Vrn3 allele combination, show a strong response to temperature undesirable to match the future target window for stem extension. Marker-based phenology modeling shows good predictive ability. Consequences for ideotype design are discussed.
