12.4% of our patients had a HPV-related tumor. HPV-related patients had a lower incidence of second primary neoplasms (SNPs). Differences by HPV-status were even sharper considering tobacco/alcohol-related SPNs. We describe three risk groups of developing a SNPs considering toxic habits and HPV-status. After further validation, it might be justified to limit HPV-related OPC patients’ follow-up.
