•: Mixed pyrochlore oxides LnEuTi₂O₇ (Ln=Gd and Y) were prepared by solid-state reaction.
•: Pure pyrochlore GdEuTi₂O₇ and YEuTi₂O₇ phases are formed at 1200 °C.
•: The Raman spectra of the prepared oxides show a marked change with Eu substitution.
•: Luminescence analyses indicated that Eu³⁺ ions are located in the A³⁺ site.
