Continuous ZIF-8 membranes were synthesized on porous PES supports. Octanol/water was used for synthesis based on an interfacial coordination mechanism. The ZIF-8/PES membranes with high fluxes have rejections in nanofiltration range. Synthesis conditions have a strong influence on membrane performance.
