Zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 derived nanoporous carbon as an effective and recyclable adsorbent for removal of ciprofloxacin antibiotics from water
Nanoporous carbon derived from MOFs was studied for the removal of CIP antibiotics.
•
Excellent CIP adsorption capacity of 416.7 mg/g was obtained by NPC-700.
•
NPC-700 can be regenerated and reused for CIP removal, showing good recyclability.
•
Electrostatic and hydrophobic interactions played a key role in CIP adsorption.
