Nonalcoholic simple fatty liver (NASFL) progresses to steatohepatitis (NASH).

Physical activity (PA) is a well-known tool for managing obesity-related disease.

This prospective study examined the impact of PA on progression of NASFL to NASH.

In this study, vigorous-intensity PA prevented the progression of NASFL to NASH.

Moderate low- and high-intensity PA had no effect on preventing NASH development.
