A series of dehydroabietic acid derivatives modified at C12 and C7 were synthesized. The antibacterial activities were investigated against several Staphylococcus aureus strains. Some compounds exhibited potent in vitro antibacterial activity against S. aureus Newman. Several compounds showed high antibacterial activity against five multidrug-resistant S. aureus.
