1 The weld joint of offshore structural steel DH36 was repaired by the underwater friction stitch welding. Influence of axial force on bonding quality of every FTPW was studied in underwater friction stitch welding. Reasonable heat treatment could decrease the hardness of friction stitch weld, in further improve the impact toughness.
