Hes/entities/bull.gif"> transfer from CpCr(CO)₃H to the kinetically favored double bond of a 1,6-diene can be used to initiate a radical cyclization. The CpCr(CO)₃H can be regenerated by a hydrogen atmosphere, making the reaction catalytic as well as tin-free.
