The concluding chapter presents an overview of our findings, including the conceptualization of revisionism as well as a comparison of our cases. The independent variable status explains best the revisionism of the German Empire, the Weimar Republic and Japan. In contrast to that, the dissident foreign policy of the US before World War I was chiefly driven by lateral pressure. The chapter also focuses on the contemporary rising powers China, India and Russia and provides instructions how to deal with revisionist rising powers.
