Obesity and its related metabolic disorders such as insulin resistance are associated with low-grade systemic inflammation. Recently it was found that B cells are also involved in induction of insulin resistance via production of IgG antibodies. However, it is not clear yet whether the antibodies mediate their pathogenic effects via interactions with Fc receptors (FcRs). The aim of the present study was to investigate obesity and insulin resistance development in FcR 纬-chain deficient mice that lack functional activating FcRs and therefore have a diminished response against antibodies.
