BackgroundA new professional profile for paramedic qualification (Notfallsanitäter = NotSan) is being implemented in the German medical emergency system. In order to keep their privileges, those professionals with 5 years of work experience (Rettungsassistent = RA) have to re-qualify by taking a combined oral and practical exam after training courses. This survey presents the experiences of preparation, examination and required resources and shows adjustment processes.
