Dioxin-type chemicals are difficult to be degraded because of their high toxicity and stable property. So they can easily cause environmental pollution and harm people's health.Microbial degradation of dioxin, with the advantages of low cost, little environmental pollution and renewable resources, has a good prospect of application. The contemporary research is related on aerobic bacteria, anaerobic bacteria and fungi, which have the capacity of degradation of dioxins and their degradation mechanisms and the research direction is proposed.
